The news we got this afternoon was not good. The oncologist reviewed the PET scan results with us, even gave us nice glossy pictures of all my insides. The scan showed that the cancer has spread to my liver, spine (T2), hips, and possibly my ovaries. The suggested treatments offer a 10% chance of survival for 5 years. There is no hope offered for cure.

Isn't it astounding, that being deathly ill, I feel better than I've felt for years? I've continued to make my spinach-lettuce-carrot juice three times each day and to eat mostly raw food. We'll be checking very seriously into the lifestyle center I mentioned last time.

I have not given up, but I'm constantly aware of the probablity that I won't live for very long. I pray for a miracle or for some unsung yet successful treatment, but I'm ready to accept moving to the next life. I ask all of you to pray for my family. I've got the easier load to carry right now.

Neither life not death shall ever
From the Lord His children sever;
Unto them His grace He showeth,
And their sorrows all He knoweth.
Lisa Sandell - translated from Swedish by Ernst W. Olson
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
Love of every love the best!
'Tis an ocean full of blessing,
'Tis a haven giving rest!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus-
'Tis a heaven of heavens to me;
And it lifts me up to glory,
For it lifts me up to Thee!

Amy, I left a message on FB, but I was reading this in my daily devotional and thought of you and your family.."We expect God to speak through peace, but sometimes he speaks through pain…
We think we hear him in the sunrise, but he is also heard in the darkness.
We listen for him in triumph, but he speaks even more distinctly through tragedy." Max Lucado...will continue to pray for you and your family

Amy, I won't lie and say that this news doesn't make my heart a little heavy. But I know that our God is greater than any disease, any cure, any thing. I also am so glad to see the peace and strength that you are getting. There is no other way to explain the source of that peace than the Lord God. We will continue to pray for you, and your family as you make decisions about treatment and where to go from here. Thank you for your testimony to all of us. I know that God has His perfect plan, and is only going to use this for His glory. Psalm 18:30, "As for God, His way is perfect."
Praying for you,
Emily and family

I am a neighbor and friend of your aunt Becky. I read your blog earlier this week after she requested prayer for you and have been praying for you since. No words can take away the pain and sorrow that you may feel right now for yourself and, most especially, for your family, but I can pray that you can all find peace in the midst of this storm and enjoyment in the sunny days. Do all you can while you feel good. Praying the Lifestyle center will give you some answers. Keep holding on!

I am waiting for results on my own CAT scan regarding my liver. I am also aware that GOD is sovereign and knows best, not only for me, but for my family as well. If God chooses that I have cancer and even untreatable cancer, that's His call. My only desire is that He be glorified and that I could do more to show love to Him (since I feel like there's so much I want to do still but know God knows best). I also desire protect and provide for my wife and children, both physically, but more importantly spiritually, as I see the darkness descending around us. As you said, those dying have the easy part. It's those we leave behind, who we love so much, who have a more difficult road. But GOD's thoughts and ways are higher and He never makes mistakes .. He always knows best .. He is ALWAYS good. :))

Dearest Jon, Amy, Cara, John, Nathan, Arielle, Eliana, Jeremiah and Gilead,

How my heart breaks for all of you tonight! I am weeping again with you, for you, as I pray on your behalf. Psalm 18 comes to mind, and I pray that as the sorrows of death compass you about, that you will feel His calm surround you, knowing how God has drawn you out of deep waters before, and delivered you, and how even in the day of calamity, the Lord has been your stay and support. He is your rock and fortress, your deliverer, your strength, He is worthy of your trust. He is your buckler and the horn of your salvation and your high tower.

I know you have put your trust in God, as Psalml 31 says. You can rejoice, for God knows your troubles, and knows your soul's sorrow during these adversities. Two years ago, when fear was on every side, you trusted in the Lord, and said, Thou art my God. Your times, Amy, are in His hand, what a safe place, your Father's hands! Such great goodness is laid up for all of you, as you trust in Him. He shall hide you in the secret of His presence. Your testimonies are strong, you love your Lord, and He preserves the faintful. He will help you to be of good courage through all that lies ahead. He will strengthen you, that is my comfort, and I pray you will find peace in His arms, as you feel Him so very near, once again, with you in the fire. We love you, and deeply miss seeing you. We are praying very much for all of you. I am sending hugs!

Dearest Amy,

When I recieved the news from mom, I cried for a long time and in talking with Teresa tonight, I cried after I got off the phone. I've realized that out of all the not so good news I have recieved from back home, something good has to come of all of it and I'm praying that something good is you. Not everyone gets to witness a miracle in their lifetime , but I hope that you will be the miracle that our family and your friends get to see and that you will defeat this! If anyone can do it, I know you can. I'm constantly thinking of you, John, and all my cousins. I miss you and I love you very much.

Dear Amy and family,
Our hearts go out to you as you face this diagnosis and more treatments. What honor you are bringing to our Lord in the midst of all of this, though. We prayed for you many times two years ago, and will now pray again. Thank you for your great example of faith in a wise and loving God.

Amy,
What a testimony of strength! A friend sent me the link to your blog. It broke my heart to read your story! You will indeed be leaving behind you a legacy of Love! I know just a little about where you are right now. My sister also walked the path that you are on right now. Her life was indeed a testimony also for how much she was Loved by our Lord even through Trials. My prayer for you is "PEACE" ~ THAT PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING~ FOR YOU, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR FRIENDS, AND ALL THOSE WHO WALK THIS ROAD WITH YOU!
In Christ!

Amy,

I posted this on our church blog and I was moved by how many people came to me Sunday to say that they were praying for you. There is no doubt that whatever the outcome, God is going to be glorified in this. Thank you for saying, "Here am I." We are praying and thanking God for the faith to overcome.

Please consider fasting to completion. For a thorough treatment on the subject read Dr. Herbert Shelton, "The Science and Fine Art of Fasting." I have fasted as long as 35 days (water only) with amazing cleansing results. God bless you!

Words seem so inadequate to express how much we love you and are praying for you all. I can offer no advice but rather am trying to sit at our Lord's feet allowing Him to teach me through you. Thank you for your testimony and, please, know that you and your family are much on our hearts and in our prayers.

Amy,
I don't know you but will be praying for you. I am encouraged by your optimistic attitude! Keep up the juicing and raw food. Our bodies can heal themselves, God designed them to!!! Just give your body the nutrition and trust the Lord! It sounds as though you are trusting in the Lord, Praise Him for that!
I have some questions for you if you wouldn't mind emailng me privately. I know you are busy and won't be offended if you don't. In any case, don't quit!

Wow your outlook is amazing and inspiring. I don't want to say anything, for fear of being titled, unfeeling. .(those of us not enduring a trial such as this can never say the right thing. . we can't I guess cuz we've not been there); but I am one who believes where there's life (living cells) there is hope. . With God all things are possible. Matt 19:26; Gen. 18:13. If the Lord has told you that He's ready for you to meet Him in person, one can't argue with that. . But if He hasn't yet told you that? The fact that you're doing the spinach shakes makes me wonder if you've heard of "A Cancer Battle Plan" by Anne Frahm? My email is passburg@bellsouth.net I have some more info I want to share (from Nutrition standpoint), if you would like. I got your info from my Moms at Home group here in TN. LOVE IN JESUS, Pam
