From St. Joe's

I'm officially discharged, but still at the hospital waiting feed Gilead for my last time today. He is getting phototherapy for jaundice right now, and the doctor hopes he will be doing well enough to turn off the lights tomorrow. He just ate 40 ml - 5 ml more than he is required to eat. That's the second feeding in a row he's eaten what he's required to, so the IV tube with supplemental "stuff" was removed! Some of you have had babies in the NICU, so you know how much every milliliter counts and what a joy it is each time another cord is taken off. We get so tangled in those things every time we take him out of his little crib.

Your comments have been very special. I've been amazed at how many people are caring and praying for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

That's great news! I'm so glad to see yet another answer to prayer from our wonderful God! Keep on eating, Gilead; and rest and get well, Amy! We are praying for you both AND for the rest of the family, too. :)

Love,

cousin Cynthia (and the Dickens tribe here in Brazil)

Shared at church tonight about your Gilead and how God is bringing you through. We are awed! Love to you, Amy. Ladies I work out with at Curves ask about you regularly, also. Blessings! Praise to our Lord and Saviour!

We praise the Lord for the wonderful blessing of Gilead's birth and how well he is doing. The Lord is good all the time! But I am so thankful this has gone well for you. I didn't know if you would be able to nurse and knew you would miss that, so I am so glad for you all. Teresa was 6 weeks early and it took her a long time to eat normally as she tired from sucking. But----once she got it, she got it! Love you all and had to laugh at the "little" Bixby feet! Bob & Sherry

Good to hear from you, Amy. So glad things are going well. I'm sure it was hard to leave your baby and go home, but glad you are recovering so quickly. Praying.
Lots of love,
Donna

Rejoicing with you for all that our all-powerful God has done! Glad your folks can be there to help and share in your miraculous event. Those "little" feet are not all Bixby--there's "Young/Caldwell" to blame too! Remember the B vitamins for help with milk production. We are cheering for all of you! Love,Aunt Pat & Uncle Tom
